We’re Trying Out Here!
Unprecedented. Like honestly, that word has been used more over the past 5 months more than rest of time combined. And it truly is unprecedented times. I don’t think there is a single thing that is the same as pre-COVID. And today, I’m actually beginning something new. Every day, a short little piece about something. It’s pretty much my tweets but in formal format. I don’t know who asked for it but it’ll happen! So, writing about sports? It ruins my life, but sure! Music? If I’m listening, I got some ideas! Food? Of course, because I’m not a weirdo. And there’s ever something that one wants to talk about, I’m always game. Now I have no idea on whether this is ever gonna be crazy long, but these words will be typed!
But today, yeah, I’m going back to the unprecedented times of America. We’re really locked inside a country where folks actively do not care if others get sick and die. Imagine, the country with multiple founding fathers that enslaved people and setting the tone for others to enslave generation after generation, and after freeing them, deciding to systematically oppress them through various ways to make their lives and the generations that follow an actual living hell. The shock! But truthfully, I honestly have no idea what is going to come from this, because it takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. And America has been a team in the past, like we all get told about the America that would change factories from making shoes into some bombs. The team effort was there to defeat imperial forces! The team effort is not here to defeat this virus! We suck! And as a soon-to-be 22-year-old, this country has failed me already from the jump. I was never going to be universally loved or appreciated unless I got a ball in my hands (and that’s a stretch still), and I’m barely 5'9. I’ve talked with friends about going overseas, and that seems more and more fun, but the fact that I can’t really leave this country, I’m really a rock in hard place (or a sick place).
I think tomorrow will just be a story about me, but I really just had to get this off my chest. Fuck this virus, fuck all the people who aren’t taking this shit serious, and please, please, wear mask. Love 🤝
